Pre-Convention Classes

Train the Trainer

Thursday, March 13 and Friday, March 14, 2008

9:00 am – 4:30 pm

Instructors:     Elizabeth Finch-Howell, CPCP

                        Marjorie Grimm, CPCP

This highly acclaimed program is being presented by President Elizabeth Finch-Howell, CPCP and Past President, Marjorie Grimm, CPCP! While a required class for those wishing to become SPCP trainer members, this will be a program even seasoned trainers will want to attend. It has been revamped and is designed for those members who wish to or are currently teaching permanent cosmetics. Attendees of this class must be CPCP certified of scheduled to take their certification exam during the convention. The SPCP required five years permanent cosmetics experience to become a trainer member, although not required for class attendance; however, it would be in the attendee’s best interest to take the Train the Trainer class around the time they would qualify for trainer membership. Please refer to the SPCP website for other trainer member requirements or contact the office for packet.

Bloodborne Pathogens Standard

Friday, March 14th, 2008

 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

 Instructor:   David Vidra, LPN

This is by far the most comprehensive, industry specific Bloodborne Pathogens training program available for permanent cosmetic professionals. The OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (1910.1030) is thoroughly covered, including needlestick guidelines, Hepatitis B vaccination requirements, information on MRSA, exposure control plan requirements, recordkeeping, and the latest interpretations covering these topics as they relate to the body modification industry. David has an all new program introduced at the Chicago and Toronto classes – you will not to miss this one! Remember, a Bloodborne pathogens class is required to maintain CPCP certification at least every two years!
