The SPCP offers 2 board certification exams for the industry.
Certified Permanent Cosmetic Professional (CPCP) and the new Certified Paramedical Tattoo Professional (CPTP)
No other industry certification out there comes close to the CPCP & CPTP exam.
To apply to sit the exams you must meet eligibility requirements. If you have not already applied for the exam or would like more information, view the website for more details.
The Exam Review is a live Zoom session designed to help you prepare for both exams. You'll get a clear overview of what to expect on the 100-question tests, along with valuable test-taking strategies. This session serves as an excellent "practice run," as Judi guides you through mock questions covering key topics from both exams.
Note: This review is not specific to paramedical tattooing. It covers topics that overlap in both exams, including—but not limited to—color theory, skin, and infection control.
The review will be conducted by the Certification Exam Chairperson and past SPCP President, Judith Culp Pearson, CPCP. Judi has been a member for over 30 years and was one of the first to take the CPCP exam, obtaining a high score for 2004.
The Exam Review is your opportunity to help YOU prepare to take the test. The exam review is not required, but our test takers have found it very helpful. It is not a replacement for the needed 100 hours of PMU training. Every student who has taken the review and followed our study recommendations has successfully passed the exam!!
The following resources have been used as reference materials for both SPCP Certification Examinations and can be very helpful for those professionals who would like to review prior taking the exam.
These publications are available through the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals and this website.
